TRMN Promotion Requirements

Promotion to the grade of E-7 requires that a billet exists for the member to fill, and must be approved by the Senior Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy or relevant branch equivalent.<ref>See Admiralty Order 1701-05 and BuPers Directive 2201-01</ref>

Members appointed bosun of a chapter will be brevetted to E-7, assuming they have completed the requisite BuTrain courses.
