Royal Manticoran Marine Corps
The Royal Manticoran Marine Corps (abbrev. RMMC) is a branch of The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. (TRMN), representing the more physical sub branch of the Royal Manticoran Navy. The most basic unit of the RMMC is the MarDet. members of this branch wear the uniform of the RMMC and are addressed by Marine ranks.
Commands of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps
Management of the RMMC is handled through various Commands which each manage a particular area of the RMMC.
The RMMC is commanded by the Marshal of the Corps (abbrev. MotC), who is an ex-officio member of the Grand Alliance Joint Chiefs of Staff. They act as the Commandant of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps. The MotC issues Corps Directives and Corps Orders, and is assisted by the Deputy Marshal of the Corps (DMotC), as well as the Sergeant Major of the Corps. These three are the overall "Command Triad" for the RMMC.

Corps Directives are issued by the Commandant of the RMMC and apply to the entire branch. The expand on and amplify all governing documents.

Corps Orders
Corps Orders are operational orders issued by the Marshal regarding basic information to the members. They are not considered an organizational governing document and therefore are limited in scope. Promotions, appointments, awards, and other honors are all examples of orders.
Regional Organization
The RMMC's operational units are assigned to a numbered Expeditionary Force based on their locations. The areas of operation for these numbered Forces are coterminous with the areas of the Naval Districts of the RMN. These Expeditionary Forces are:

TRMN Chapter Tiers are defined in PD-SC-1003. The RMMC does not utilize any tiers above Tier 5.

Honorverse
Within the context of the Honorverse canon, Marines form an integral part of a ship's crew; they man the ship's weapons, are crucial to damage control and are used for boarding parties or to provide a quick-reaction ground force on a planet's surface. While Marines can be deployed as a garrison force, such arrangements usually last only until they are relieved by Army units.
Promotions
Marines can be promoted when they have meet the "Time in grade", the "Time in Service" and passed any necessary courses. The courses can be found at the RMMC Enlisted Training Center.
