The Medal of Gallantry (abbrev. MG) is a gallantry award of the Royal Manticoran Army, awarded only to commissioned and warrant officers. It is awarded to officers who perform actions of gallantry and risk of life in combat with an enemy force but do not qualify for an award of the Manticore Medal. The recipients of the medal are entitled to the postnominal letters of ‘MG’ after their names. Those receiving further awards may use ‘with cluster’ or ‘with clusters’ as well. The Medal of Gallantry can be awarded posthumously.
The Medal of Gallantry is of equivalent level to the Order of Gallantry (OG) awarded to qualifying Royal Manticoran Navy and Royal Manticoran Marine Corps officers. Like the OG, the ribbon has horizontal instead of vertical stripes. The MG has green and gold stripes, while the OG has white and sky-blue stripes.
