The Leonard Medal can be awarded posthumously.
The Leonard Medal is of equivalent level to the Distinguished Gallantry Cross awarded to qualifying Royal Manticoran Navy and Royal Manticoran Marine Corps enlisted personnel.
The criteria for this award is exceptional service to the Royal Manticoran Army, either by demonstrating consistently outstanding performance over time, or by performing a particular task or service to a high standard of excellence, but not enough to qualify for the Distinguished Service Medal.
