A Lance Corporal or E-3 is an enlisted person in the marine corps or army. It is the highest rank before becoming a non-commissioned officer. A soldier who has received their third stripe is generally referred to as "Lance."
Honorverse
In peacetime, a lance corporal will have served nine months in the service, and eight months Time in Grade.[1] The Royal Manticoran Army uniform is green with yellow stripes bordered by blue. The Royal Manticoran Marine Corps is black with yellow stripes bordered by green.
TRMN
If the soldier has completed their Basic Enlisted Exam, with five months Time in Grade, they are appointed to this rank.[2]
