The Good Conduct Medal (abbrev. GCM) is a military award of the Star Empire of Manticore[1], issued to non-commissioned personnel for long service. There are no known canon recipients of this decoration.
TRMN Information
This award is given for five consecutive years of membership in good standing as an Enlisted or Warrant member[2] of either the RMN, RMMC or RMA. Once the award is issued, the five-year clock resets. In other words, a member who joined 2010 will receive a GCM for the period 2010 to 2015. He will receive his next one in 2020. He may not request one in 2016 for the period 2011 to 2016, because the clock “reset” in 2015. A check of the members personnel file to ensure no offenses or misconduct will be conducted before issuance.[3]
The second issuance of the Good Conduct Medal (for ten years service) is denoted by a silver Manticore pin affixed to the ribbon.
Commissioned officers are not issued the Good Conduct Medal for long service. Instead, they are issued the Manticoran Reserve Service Medal for five years of service, which is then replaced with the Manticoran Service Medal upon completion of ten years of service.
