Joint Chiefs Directive 2309-01 was issued 30 Sep 2023 by the Chairman of the Grand Alliance Joint Chiefs of Staff. This order appoints a new Commandant of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps.

My Lord:
Under the Authority of the Grand Alliance I do hereby issue the following Directives:
- Directive 2309-01.01: GEN Sir Michael Houghtaling, KSK, KDE, MC, SC, OG, NS, DSO, MR, MGL, CGM, GS, QBM, CBM, RMMC, The Most Honorable The Earl of Sutherland, in recognition of your unwavering dedication to the Star Kingdom, you are hereby directed and required to report to Headquarters, RMMC, therein to relieve Marshal of the Corps Sir Sean Nieymeyer, KSK, OM, KDE, KCR, GS, RMMC, His Grace The Duke of New Ulyanovsk, The Right Honorable Baron Alnwick Estates, as Commandant of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps. Fail not in this duty at your peril.
- Directive 2309-01.02: Upon assuming command, you shall be breveted to the rank of Marshal of the Corps (F-6).
- Directive 2309-01.03: Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth III of the Star Kingdom of Manticore, and Empress Elizabeth I of the Star Empire of Manticore, wishes to recognize and reward Marshal New Ulyanovsk’s near sixteen years of steadfastly devoted service to the Star Kingdom and the Grand Alliance, in his various capacities, current and former, including as an officer and member of the Royal Council and Fourth Space Lord of the Royal Manticoran Navy. To that end, he is hereby inducted into the Order of the Crown for Naval Service, to which he is entitled to use the post-nominal letters of “OCN.”
The above orders are effective 1 October 2023.
