The Meritorious Service Medal (abbrev: MSM) is a military decoration awarded by the Star Empire of Manticore[1]. There are no known canon awardees.
The MSM is awarded to qualifying military personnel of all branches. The ribbon for the version awarded to Royal Manticoran Navy and Royal Manticoran Marine Corps personnel is green with red stripes, while the version issued to Royal Manticoran Army personnel is yellow with blue stripes.
TRMN Information
This award is issued to recognize RMN and RMMC members who have rendered exceptional service to a particular unit by performing a particular task or service to a high standard of excellence. Such accomplishment should be of extra-unit significance and affect or reflect favorably on the unit as a whole. It is usually awarded to those serving in leadership positions, although this may not need to be the case. [2]
Army
This is awarded to those members of the Royal Manticoran Army who have distinguished themselves by exceptional meritorious service or worthy achievement in non-combat situations but do not qualify for the Conspicuous Service Medal. It is usually awarded to those serving in leadership positions and performing outstanding work. The Meritorious Service Medal cannot be awarded posthumously.
TRMN Note: This award is given to recognize members who have rendered exceptional service to a particular unit by performing a particular task or service to a high standard of excellence. Such accomplishment should be of extra-unit significance and affect or reflect favorably on the unit as a whole. It is usually awarded to those serving in leadership positions although this may not need to be the case. The issuing authority may consult with the next higher authority if there is a question.[3]
