Spacer Third Class

A Spacer 3rd Class or E-1 is an enlisted person who has just joined the navy. Once they pass basic training and "A" School, they are referred to by their rate. So a Corpsman would not be called "Spacer 3rd Class," but rather "Corpsman 3rd Class."

Honorverse

This is the beginning rank for all enlisted personnel.

TRMN

This is the first rank given to all members. The Grayson Space Navy uniform is blue with silver stripes. The Royal Manticoran Navy is black and the color of the stripes change depending on the specialty of the spacer.
