The Distinguished Service Medal (civilian) (abbrev. DSM) is the Third Highest Service award issued to qualifying civilians, including members of:

Equivalent precedence awards

Despite being of the same name, the civilian DSM is not equivalent to the Distinguished Service Medal awarded to Royal Manticoran Army enlisted personnel for extreme gallantry in combat.

The civilian DSM is of equivalent precedence to the military Conspicuous Service Medal.

The DSM was introduced as an award in Admiralty Order 1703-02.
