Battle Squadron 2 (abbrev: BatRon 2) is a Superdreadnought-strength squadron reporting to Task Group 91.1 within the Tenth Fleet. Commanded by CDRE Sir Joseph Harney, GCE, MC, OG, CGM, from his flagship HMS Revenge, this squadron's area of operations includes the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento Valley, and Central California.
History
BatRon 2 was formed and established in September 2016 with Naval Directive 16SE-01 from the acting First Space Lord, ADM Lord Sir John Roberts, to CDRE Sir Joseph Harney to assume command. Its charter member vessels were HMS Revenge (flagship), HMS Medusa, HMS Thunderer, and HMS Intractable.
