- For the award of the same name issued to enlisted Royal Manticoran Army soldiers, see Distinguished Service Medal
The Distinguished Service Medal (abbrev. DSM) is an award issued to qualifying civilians, including members of:
- Diplomatic Corps
- Special Intelligence Service
- Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine
- Royal Manticoran Astro Control Service
- Sphinx Forestry Commission
Equivalent precedence awards
Despite being of the same name, the civilian DSM is not equivalent to the [Distinguished Service Medal]] awarded to Royal Manticoran Army enlisted personnel for extreme valor in combat. The army DSM is of much higher precedence level.
The civilian DSM is of equivalent precedence to the military Mentioned in Dispatches.
TRMN Information
The DSM was introduced as an award in Admiralty Order 1703-02.
