Army Directive 2412-03 was issued 12 December 2024 by the Marshal of the Army. It established the Orbital Warfare Badge.

| Re: | (AD 2412-03) Establishment of the Orbital Warfare Badge |
Effective immediately, the Orbital Warfare Badge is hereby established as the official academic
badge of the Royal Manticoran Army (RMA). This badge is instituted to recognize the
completion of educational achievements specifically tailored to RMA members.
The Orbital Warfare Badge shall:
1. Be managed and issued by the Bureau of Training, The Royal Manticoran Navy
(TRMN).
2. Require the successful completion of a series of approved courses, as specified in a
forthcoming order, to be published by the Bureau of Training.
It is further emphasized that the Orbital Warfare Badge will hold a position of lower precedence compared to the Combat Infantry Badge.
The Orbital Warfare Badge will soon be available to earn through the Bureau of Training; however, it is currently in the research phase of production and not yet available through the Bureau of Supply. Once production is complete and the badge becomes available, an announcement will be made. In the meantime, members will be able to earn the badge and have it recorded, even though it cannot yet be worn.
Detailed course requirements and procedural guidelines for obtaining the Orbital Warfare Badge will be outlined in the Bureau of Training’s subsequent publication. To ensure all candidates are well-informed, this information will be prioritized and shared alongside the initial announcement of the badge's establishment.[1]
