The Marine Staff Officer School is only available to individuals who have passed the Colonel course (SIA-RMMC-0106). This is an extremely difficult set of courses that challenge an officer’s ability to provide well thought out and reasoned answers to some of the hardest questions faced during operations planning. The Staff Officers School includes Basic, Advanced, and Expert courses for Staff Officer, General Staff Officer and Joint Task Force Staff Officer.

P lease note that passing any of these courses does not entitle a member to an automatic promotion. Promotions are handled according to requirements as laid out in Admiralty Order 1707-01.
