BuShips Directive 1203-05 was issued 23 March 2012 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. It commissions GNS Hermes.

My fellow Manticorans,
Effective as of 0001 Hours on March 23, 2012, it is my pleasure to announce the commissioning of the GNS Hermes, CL-73. This is a Disciple-class Light Cruiser under the Command of Commander Keith Manley and is assigned to the Grayson Space Navy.
The crew of this ship are as follows:
- Keith Manley(and assigned as Commanding Officer, GNS Hermes)
- Thomas Clark (and assigned as Executive Officer for GNS Hermes)
- Mark West(and assigned as Chief Petty Officer for GNS Hermes)
- Nicholas Macon Hurst (Embarked Flag-High Admiral, GSN)
