History
Commissioned as an upgrade from {{#if:hcn

}}}} in June of 2015 under the command of Captain of the List Karolyn Byers, Salamander was initially assigned to Third Fleet, out of Waynesboro, VA.<ref name="BSD150604">BuShips Directive 1506-04</ref> Just over two months later, she joined {{#if:

}}}} in the activation of CLACDIV 624.<ref name="Naval Directive 15AU-04">Naval Directive 15AU-04</ref> Unfortunately, due to an inability to fill the command triad, the ship was decommissioned and placed into Active Reserve in November of 2016.<ref name="BSD161110">BuShips Directive 1611-10</ref>
Salamander was returned to service in late February, 2018, under the command of Captain (Junior Grade) John Gilfillan, this time in Sixth Fleet as an upgrade from {{#if:hcn

}}}}<ref name="BSD180205">BuShips Directive 1802-05</ref> Beating her prior incarnation's record, this iteration was assigned to an echelon unit in just over a week, taking her place in TG 61.1 in early March.<ref name="ND18MAR02">Naval Directive 18MAR-02</ref> Assigned to CLACDiv 654 some point over the subsequent two years, Salamander was returned to detached operation within TG 61.1 in February of 2020.<ref name="ND20FE02">Naval Directive 20FE-02</ref> With her crew being transferred entirely over to the newly commissioned {{#if:
