GNS Olympus (CL-58) is a Disciple-class Light Cruiser in Fourth Fleet. Commanded by CDR Patrick Maher, CGM, EM, RMN, Olympus is a chapter that patrols Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. It has a forum section here. It has a facebook group here.
History
Olympus was commissioned on 14 January 2019 under the command of then CDR Neil Simpson. The Olympus was assigned to patrol Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The crew had previously served on the {{#if:
|GNS Joshua (DD-18) |{{#if:DD-18 |GNS Joshua |GNS Joshua
}}}}. The ship is a frequent attendee of EasterCon as well as conventions local to its patrol area.
After its then commanding officer CAPT Simpson was promoted to RADM and made commanding officer of 4th Fleet the Olympus became the flagship for 4th Fleet and command transferred to the then XO CDR Dowdall. In February 2023 a decision was made for the CO and XO to swap billets which saw then CDR Patrick Maher take command.
