BuShips Directive 2002-08 was issued on 28 February 2020 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. This directive commissions HMS Tornado.

Effective as of 0001 Hours on 28 February 2020, it is my pleasure and privilege to announce the commissioning of HMS Tornado. This is a Roland-class Destroyer and is assigned to the Eighth Fleet AOR (Tempe, Arizona).

The following personnel are hereby transferred and permanently assigned to HMS Tornado:

LCDR Richard DeShong (assigned as CO)
CDR Thom Shartle (assigned as XO)
CPO Maria de la Paz DeShong (assigned as Bosun)
CDRE Marcus Johnston
S1C Kenneth Sadens
S2C Richard DeShong III

The following civilians are hereby transferred and permanently assigned to HMS Tornado:

Asher Johnston, C-2
Geoffrey Hurn, C-3
Megan Hall, C-3
Zariana Brothers, C-3

Subsequent to the commissioning, HMLAC Browncoat shall be transferred to the Active Fleet Reserves, following an inspection and any repairs deemed necessary. The vessel shall be made available for recommissioning at a later date.
