Master Sergeant

Master Sergeant (abbrev: MSGT) is an enlisted paygrade within the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps and the Royal Manticoran Army. It holds the equivalent military paygrade of E-7 within The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. and is the lowest senior non-commissioned officer rank. A soldier who has received their first rocker is generally referred to as "Sergeant."

Honorverse

In peacetime, a master sergeant will have served 6 years in the service, but no Time in Grade requirement. Promotions are handled by an enlisted review board at Admiralty House or Royal Army Headquarters. The Royal Manticoran Army uniform is green with yellow stripes bordered by blue. The Royal Manticoran Marine Corps is black with yellow stripes bordered by green.

TRMN

If the soldier has completed their Master Sergeant Exam, with thirteen months Time in Grade, they are appointed to this rank. Master Sergeants usually hold the position of Gunny in a MarDet.
