From: Admiral of the Red, John Roberts, Third Space Lord
Re: Adherence to Honorverse Canon Regarding Ship Names (Naval Directive 11AP-01)

As of the date of this Order, by my hand, and by the authority of the Sovereign, Queen of Manticore Elizabeth III, it is hereby directed that all ship names for chapters commissioned within the Royal Manticoran Navy, The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association shall bear the names of vessels considered as Canon within the Honorverse (either as appearing in the novels or in the materials put out by Ad Astra and BuNine).

The Third Space maintains a list of ship classes and approved names within those classes, as well as the appropriate hull numbers for each name. If you desire to launch a chapter within the Royal Manticoran Navy (including the Grayson Space Navy vessels), you must consult with the Third Space Lord to obtain the list of approved ship names and hull numbers for your requested Class.

The only names exempted from the requirement of certain classes are those that appear on the Honorverse List of Honor or those who have been inducted into the Royal Manticoran navy’s List of Honor. Both of these Lists of honor can be found in RMN-002, the Bureau of Ships Manual. In Honour of the Queen!
