Re: Directive 015-19: Civilian Award November 2019

Award: Award for Valor (AV) [Civilian Equivalent to the military Order of Gallantry]

The following member, David Munn, (RMN-3463-15) is hereby awarded the Award for Valor (AV). The Award for Valor is the civilian equivalent to the military Order of Gallantry.

Citation:

“Since joining the HMS Saladin DD-515 in 2015, Mr Munn, as a member of the Diplomatic Corps, has distinguished himself by exceptionally meritorious service to his Chapter and his crewmates.

He has routinely volunteered to undertake a journey of 3.5 hours to collect crew members without any means of transport, and drive them to Chapter meetings and conventions. To date a total of 2,494 miles, averaging around 207.33 miles per trip, has been undertaken, all with a crew member on board. In addition, during this time, not only has he promoted the importance of ranking courses, he has been an enthusiastic and engaging member of the crew whether it by email, online or helping with recruitment drives or helping out at events.

He brings great credit upon himself and his Chapter and his dedication to duty and service is greatly appreciated. It is an honor and privilege to have him aboard H.M.S. Saladin.”
