Eighth Fleet

The Eighth Fleet is one of the numbered fleets within The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc.. Commanded by RADM Dan Brandow, from her flagship HMS Implacable, this fleet's area of operations includes the American states of Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, and Colorado.

History

The Eighth Fleet was established in 2011 with the Naval Directive 11FB-07 from the First Space Lord, FADM ]] Lord Sir Scott Akers, to ADM Lord Sir John Roberts, Baron New Mecklenburg to assume command of the fleet. HMS Anasazi formed in the Albuquerque area on 17 March 2011, under the command of ADM John Roberts, transferring a lot of his crew from the StarFleet ship USS Anasazi(NCC-62001). Roberts initially had three hats; Ship CO, Fleet CO, and Third Space Lord, but at the time of TRMN's founding, neither of these jobs was particularly onerous.

USS Ad Astra also crossed universes to become the HMS Enterprise under the command of CAPTJG Diane Bulkeley on 28 April 2012 to be the second ship in 8th Fleet, based out of Colorado. HMS Raven soon signed on 07 September 2012 under the command of LTCDR Michael Roybal in NM, and on 04 September 2012, HMS Condor was founded in Glendale, AZ under the command of LTCDR Craig Porter, bringing our number up to four.

HMS Juno was founded later on 23 Sept 2013 under the command of CAPTJG Stephen Savage, becoming our first Canadian chapter in Edmonton, AB. This was none too soon, as HMS Raven was lost in action on 07 September 2013 (lost contact with all of the crew). However, we also had the formation of the first MarDet on board HMS Condor on 06 October 2013, under the command of Marine CAPT George Farmer, located in Tucson, AZ.

On 01 July 2014, CMDR Marcus Johnston took command of HMS Condor, but not for long, as they upgraded to HMS Claymore (CA-51) on 28 July 2014.

HMS Juno was lost in action on 21 January 2015 (command staff not testing up to their rank). HMS Reliant was founded on 06 Aug 2015 under the command of CAPTJG

Crew from the Anasazi split off to form HMS Avalon on 1 January 2015, under the command of then-CAPTJG Dan Brandow.

• HMS Enterprise (Division Flagship), under the command of CAPTSG Tammy Schoonover, patrolling Colorado Springs, CO.
• HMS Reliant, under the command of CAPTJG Benjamin Loyola, patrolling Longmont, CO.

Cruiser Division 801 (CruDiv 801)

• HMS Helen Zilwicki (Division Flagship), under the command of CMDE Eddy Roberts, patrolling Taylorsville, UT.
• HMS Jonas Adcock (Division Flagship), under the command of CAPTJG Edward Schneider, patrolling Tooele, UT.
