BuShips Directive 1402-03 was issued 14 February 2014 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. It commissions HMS Kraken (SD-163).

My fellow Manticorans,
Effective as of 0001 Hours (EST) on February 14, 2014, it is my pleasure to announce the commissioning of HMS Kraken, SD-163, under the command of Captain, s.g. Mark Polanis. This is a Gryphon Class Superdreadnought and is assigned to the Third Fleet, based in Winston-Salem, NC.
As of the date of Commissioning, the following personnel are assigned to HMS Kraken:
