Wounds
|
Criteria
This award is issued to members of TRMN who either are seriously injured while on duty during an event or participate in a blood donation drive at an approved event. The injury must be serious enough to require emergency room attention. Donation of Whole Blood, Platelets, Power Red, and Double Red Cell are also acceptable methods for gaining the Wound Stripe. The donation must occur during a Grand Alliance or Flag event or during an organizational drive approved by the Steering Committee. All donations must be documented, and a copy of the documentation must be submitted for review. The first stripe will be issued for the initial donation of any type with the second and subsequent stripes issued for every 3 whole blood donations (or equivalent) (see below).
NOTE:
4 platelet donations = 1 whole blood donation
1 Power Red donation = 2 whole blood donations
1 Double Red Cell donation = 2 whole blood donations.
Combinations of different types of donations must add up to 3 whole blood donations for each subsequent stripe.
Since there is no such thing as ½ donation, the ‘left-over’ ½ donation of a Power Red or Double Red Cell donation may be credited toward the next stripe.
