Admiralty Order 0711-02 was issued in November, 2007 by the First Lord of the Admiralty, and established the rank time in grade (TIG) requirements.

To: All Officers and Enlisted in the Royal Manticoran Navy, Marine Corps and Army From: Admiral of the Fleet, Lord Martin A. Lessem, JD, First Lord of the Admiralty, Duke of New Scania Re: Rank TIG (Admiralty Order 0711-02)

Here below you will find the various TIG (Time In Grade) for the Royal Manticoran Navy, Marine Corps and Army. The TIG is how long you must remain in the previous rank. For the F-2 through F-4 ranks in the Navy, the first half of your tenure you append "of the Red" to your rank. During the second half of your tenure you append "of the Green" to your rank.
