GRYPHON FLEET ORDER 1704-A, 4APR2017

My thanks to the personnel who conducted Royal Manticoran Navy operations at Who’s Yer Con, held in Indianapolis, IN, 31 March-2 April 2017. This was a fleet level event with a recruiting table, and our participating personnel recruited nine new members for the local chapter, as well as members for a chapter in a neighboring state. Well done! All awards are effective 4 April 2017.

The following personnel are awarded the HAVENITE OPERATIONAL SERVICE MEDAL for their participation at Who’s Yer Con 2017:

  • CAPTJG Jackie SNEDDEN, HMS Ajax
  • CDR Christina SWANSON, HMS Gryphon
  • ENS Scott SOMERVILLE, HMS Gryphon
  • SCPO Brad HANDLEY, HMS Ajax
  • PSGT Paula HANDLEY, RMMC, HMS Ajax

The following personnel performed qualifying service for the HOS, but were previously awarded this medal in 2017:

  • CAPTSG Sherman DAY, CO Task Force 22
  • CAPTJG Geoff STRAYER, HMS Demon

The following personnel are awarded the SILESIAN ANTI-PIRACY MEDAL, for travelling a qualifying distance to participate at Who’s Yer Con 2017:

  • CAPTJG Jackie SNEDDEN, HMS Ajax
  • SCPO Brad HANDLEY, HMS Ajax
  • PSGT Paula HANDLEY, RMMC, HMS Ajax

The following personnel are awarded the NAVY/MARINE ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL, for their initiative in acquiring from Baen Books a set of display plates of Honorverse series book jackets, which greatly enhanced the presentation of the recruiting table operation:

  • SCPO Brad HANDLEY, HMS Ajax
  • PSGT Paula HANDLEY, RMMC, HMS Ajax

CDR Christina SWANSON is hereby MENTIONED IN DISPATCHES for her planning and executing this operation. She worked with the convention and paid the fees for the table and a TRMN advertisement in the program book from her own pocket, and without her this successful operation to promote The Royal Manticoran Navy would not have happened in the first place.

The Tradition Lives!
