BuShips Directive 1711-06 was issued 21 November 2017 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. This directive re-commissions HMS Merlin (CA-270).

Attention to Orders:
Effective as of 0001 Hours on 21 November, 2017, it is my pleasure and privilege to announce the re-commissioning of HMS Merlin (CA-270), This is a Star Knight-class Heavy Cruiser and is assigned to Second Fleet (Big Lake, Minnesota, USA).
The following personnel are hereby transferred and permanently assigned to HMS Merlin (CA-270):

Subsequent to this commissioning, HMS Javelin (DD-264) shall be transferred to the Active Fleet Reserves, following inspection and any repairs deemed necessary. This vessel shall be made available for recommissioning at a later date.
