Admiralty Order 1507-04

Admiralty Order 1507-04 was issued July 28, 2015 by the First Lord of the Admiralty. It modifies the policies and requirements for promotion to Ensign / 2nd Lieutenant (O-1).

Re:	Promotion to Ensign/Second Lieutenant – O1 (Admiralty Order 1507-04)

As of the publication of this Order, the following changes are effective:

Promotion to Ensign for merit, excluding Brevet promotions during commissioning or to fill out the required Officer complement shall meet the following criteria:

If the candidate has completed the first Officer Exam, they must have four months Time In Grade at E4

If the candidate has not completed the first Officer Exam, they must have the full nine months Time In Grade at E4, and complete the first Officer Exam within 6 months of being promoted. Should the Officer exam not be completed within six months of promotion, the candidate will be demoted back to E4.
