Corps Directive 01-1109 was issued 12 September 2011 under the authority of the Marshal of the Corps. It creates and defines the senior command levels of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps.

From: Marshal of the Corps Sean Niemeyer, Commandant of the RMMC
Re: Creation and Establishment of RMMC Command Billets (Corps Directive 01-1109)

As of the date of this Order, by my hand, and by the authority of the Sovereign, Queen of Manticore Elizabeth III, I hereby;

  1. Create and establish the following billets within the RMMC:
    1. Deputy Commandant Royal Manticoran Marine Corps
    2. Commanding Officer Marine Forces Command (COMFORCECOM) Royal Manticoran Marine Corps
    3. Sergeant Major Royal Manticoran Marine Corps
  2. Whereas the above Billets will have the following duties and responsibilities:
    1. Deputy Commandant Royal Manticoran Marine Corps: This billet reports directly to the Commandant and is charged with but not limited to the following:
      1. Representing the RMMC in instances where the Commandant is either incapacitated or unavailable for official RMMC functions,
      2. Oversee projects assigned to him or her by the Commandant RMMC,
      3. Ensure that the chain-of-command operates smoothly and intercedes when and where necessary.

        "The Deputy Commandant may maintain a staff as necessary to accomplish the duties of the billet and any projects that are assigned the billet. The individual assigned to this billet shall have a minimum rank of Field Marshal."

    2. Commanding Officer Marine Forces Command Royal Manticoran Marine Corps: This billet reports directly to the Commandant and is charged with, but not limited to the following:
      1. Overseeing the welfare of the various units in the RMMC and help members establish marine units on their chapters and support those and existing units by various means,
      2. Receive all reports from RMMC units, condense and summarize them, and then send the summarized report to both the Commandant and the Deputy Commandant,
      3. Keep track of any unofficial unit heraldry that units may create, such as unit logos, and ensure that each unit’s logo is unique.

        "The Commanding Officer Marine Forces Command Royal Manticoran Marine Corps may maintain a staff as necessary to accomplish the duties of the billet and any projects that are assigned the billet. The individual assigned to this billet shall have a minimum rank of General."

    3. Sergeant Major Royal Manticoran Marine Corps: This billet reports directly to the Commandant and is charged with, but not limited to the following:
      1. Support the enlisted members of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps, by helping develop NCO and enlisted training courses as well as drill.

        "The Sergeant Major Royal Manticoran Marine Corps may maintain a small staff as necessary to accomplish the duties of the billet and any projects that are assigned the billet. The individual assigned to this billet shall have the rank of Regimental Sergeant Major."
