Admiralty Order 2307-02 was issued July 2nd, 2023 by the First Lord of the Admiralty, and updates the rank structures of the Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine. It also rescinds in toto AO 1612-06.

This Admiralty Order updates and replaces AO 1612-06.

Implementation Notes and General Instructions

The following general instructions are issued to the Home Secretary and Fifth Space Lord for implementation of this Admiralty Order:

  • •The Home Secretary will consult with the senior ranking members of the Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine for the purpose of issuing a limited number of brevet promotions to outstanding individuals who are most effected by the change in the rank structure.
  • •The senior ranking RMMM officer will consult with the Home Secretary in jointly developing entertainment billets to correspond to the Catering Track as listed above. They will then work with the Fifth Space Lord to ensure that these billets are available in Medusa.

Merchant Marine Chapter Command Composition

The Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine has Civilian Ship Chapters. These are commissioned by the Third Space Lord. The minimum and maximum command composition for merchant ship chapters are as follows:

The command crew (Master, Chief Engineer, and Certified Bosun) of each civilian ship must be Merchant Mariners and must meet the minimum educational requirements (or equivalencies) as set forth by BuTrain.
