Re: TRMN Forums - Addendum (Admiralty Order 1703-04)

As the Forums are new, it has been felt that some clarifications are in order, and also, an extension on transitioning, as requested by the members.

The purpose of the Forums is for the conducting of TRMN Business. That is not to say that we won’t have some fun Forums, such as the Grayson Baseball League, or the new Peerage Lands, but the main purpose is moving the organization along.

As such, Discussion Groups from Facebook, such as White Berets, Fleet Staff, Fleet Commanders, various Bureau Staff Pages, will be expected to move fully to the new Forums by the date listed below, and their Facebook Groups should be shut down.

Chapter Groups, and the main group pages for sub-groups, such as the Merchant Marine, RMMC, RMA, Etc., on Facebook will be permitted to list themselves as Closed Groups, as opposed to Secret, for the purposes of enabling recruiting, and coordinating events in real time. However, all business posts to those pages *must* be duplicated to the proper Forum, and a notice about the Forums must be pinned to the top of each page.

We will evaluate how this is working in six months (September 30, 2017). If this works, and if Chapters are properly utilizing their Forums, this compromise situation will continue. As this is a compromise, this will fall upon all Chapters to work with the Leadership to ensure that this happens. If this compromise does not show the ability to work, or if the Chapters do not also use their Forums, we may need to revisit if Facebook will remain in any format.

The Forums, like all methods of Communication can only work if we all work together. We know that some of you don’t like Forums, but the same goes for Facebook, and we have members who don’t, or just won’t use Facebook. The organization needs to find a way to reach as many members as possible, and that is why this compromise is being tried.

Each Echelon level will still need to designate at least 1 Moderator for their forums, and this information must be shared with the Forum Administrators via the Bolthole email below.

Issues with the Forums can be reported through Bolthole@trmn.org

The URL for the Forums is: https://forums.trmn.org/

You will log in with your MEDUSA Username (your email address) and password. There is no need to register.

To ensure as many of our members as possible know about this, it will fall upon Chapter CO’s to share this AO with their crews.

The current grace period on all Facebook Groups is extended to April 28, 2017.

I look forward to seeing you all on our forums!

If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact the Office of the First Lord of the Admiralty.

In Honour of the Queen!
