A corps is a military echelon formation. In canon, the Royal Manticoran Army (RMA) and Royal Manticoran Marine Corps (RMMC), a corps is a multi-unit formation consisting of two or more divisions, and is typically commanded by a Major General or Lieutenant General.

RMA corps

In The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. (TRMN), an RMA corps is a Level 3 multi-chapter echelon formation consisting of 2-3 divisions, each of which consists of 2-3 brigades each consisting of 2-3 chapters.^[1] This means that a corps could consist of 8-27 chapters.

The Commanding Officer of an RMA corps will be brevetted to a minimum rank of Colonel (O-6) if they are not already at that rank or higher.

The term corps is also used in the RMA for specialist functions similar to the bureaus of the Royal Manticoran Navy.
