BuShips Directive 1612-06 was issued 6 December 2016 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. This directive commissions the GNS Mercy (DD-43).

Attention to Orders:
Effective as of 0001 Hours on 7 December 2016, it is my pleasure and privilege to announce the commissioning of GNS Mercy (DD-43). This is a Joshua-class Destroyer and is assigned to the Fourth Fleet (Coventry, West Midlands, UK).
The following personnel are hereby transferred and permanently assigned to GNS Mercy, DD-43:
