Re: | Awards - Tempe Library Comic-Con • Eighth Fleet Order 1802-20 |
As of the date of this order, 20 February 2018 0938 MDT, by my hand and under the authority of the Queen, I hereby announce the following awards to be issued for services rendered during Tempe Library Comic-Con:
NAVY / MARINE ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL
After enduring a three-hour one-way bus ride across the Phoenix metro area, Captain (JG) ROSE DAVIES and Spacer 3/c GEOFFREY KOPFF of HMS Broadsword (CA-47) manned the recruitment table at the Tempe Library Comic-Con for close to four hours, with few breaks. Their dedication allowed them to represent the Royal Manticoran Navy with distinction and spread the word of our great organization. They then returned home on another three-hour bus ride, while carrying a significant amount of recruitment materials, while having to ride on a scooter due to Captain Davies' broken leg. For their selfless acts, they are awarded the Navy/Marine Achievement Medal.
MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL
Despite mechanical problems with his vehicle and continuing medical difficulties, Captain (JG) MICHAEL NARON, commanding HMS Claymore (CA-51), drove two hours and then proceeded to unload a canopy, posters, chairs, and recruiting materials while having to use a scooter to get from his car to the table. He then manned the recruitment table off and on for six hours, allowing other members of the fleet to attend con events and take care of family matters. His continual dedication to RMN events, regardless of the distance and personal expense to himself, is in the best tradition of the Royal Manticoran Navy. For his service, he is awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.
In service to Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth III of Manticore,
