| Re: | Closure of the Bureau of Training for Training Standdown |
The Bureau of Training (BuTrain) will be closed from December 28, 2020, through January 11, 2021, with some courses possibly closed until January 25, 2020, for a Training Standdown. Course requests will be turned off at 10 pm Eastern on December 20, 2020, to allow instructors to grade and return as many currently received courses as possible before the standdown. However, the 7 day timeline still applies so courses submitted during the week of December 21st may not be returned until after the course reopens.
During the training standdown--
--All faculty and staff will be reviewing BuTrain policies and procedures to ensure we continue to provide a consistently outstanding service to our members.
--Members will not be able to request a course.
--Instructors will not be grading or returning courses.
--The 7 day response timeline will be suspended and time will not accrue.
Course requests will reopen and instructors will begin grading and returning their courses on January 11, 2021, at the earliest, if they have completed their training requirements. All courses will reopen no later than January 25, 2021. Course reopenings, if any, will be posted daily in the BuTrain Student Questions forum in a “BuTrain Training Standdown Course Reopening” sticky post beginning the evening of January 11, 2021. The instructors’ 7 day course response timeline does not continue during the shutdown; it resumes when the course has reopened.
During this training standdown, please do not submit courses for grading. I also encourage all students to review the student manual in the Mantipedia to become familiar with all BuTrain policies and procedures, including the policies and procedures regarding course citations, which will be enforced when courses reopen
