BuShips Directive 2007-03 was issued on 21 July 2020 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. This directive recommissions HMS Avalon (CL-395).

Attention to Orders:
Effective as of 0001 Hours on 21 July 2020, it is my pleasure and privilege to announce the re-commissioning of HMS Avalon (CL-395). This is the lead Avalon class Light Cruiser and is assigned to the Third Fleet AOR (Winston Salem, NC).
The following personnel are hereby transferred and permanently assigned to HMS Avalon (CL-395):

- CDR Christopher Carter (assigned as XO)
- CPO Lynn Holiman (assigned as Bosun)
- CDR Samantha Martin
- CDR Joshua Bailey

The following Civilian Corps personnel are hereby transferred and permanently assigned to HMS Avalon (CL-395)
Subsequent to the recommissioning, HMS Devastation (DD-44) shall be transferred to the Active Fleet Reserves, following an inspection and any repairs deemed necessary. The vessel shall be made available for recommission at a later date.
