BuShips Directive 2001-03 was issued on 3 January 2020 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. This directive appoints a new Bosun for HMS Merlin (CA-270).

Petty Officer First Class Spicer:
You are hereby directed and required to proceed aboard HMS Merlin (CA-270), there to take upon yourself the duties and responsibilities of Chief of the Boat (Bosun), relieving Chief Petty Officer Justin Willard, RMN, in service to the Crown. Fail not in this charge at your peril.
Based upon the requirements of the service for your new billet, you are hereby brevetted to the rank of CHIEF PETTY OFFICER, RMN.
The above directive is effective on this date, 03 January 2020.
The Bureau of Ships wishes to express appreciation and thanks to Chief Petty Officer Willard for his service as Bosun of Merlin and wish him all success in his future endeavors.
