BuShips Directive 1612-05 was issued 6 December 2016 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. This directive appoints a BuShips Chief of Staff.

Attention:
Based in no small part upon his work and efforts in service to this organization and the bureau, is my pleasure and privilege to announce that Commander Christopher Thompson, MC, OC, NS, ME, CGM, GS, RMN, is hereby appointed as the Chief of Staff for the Bureau of Ships. In accordance with this appointment, he is hereby breveted to the rank of CAPTAIN (JG), RMN.
The above order is effective on this date, 06 December 2016.
