Post-nominal letters, commonly called post-nominals, are letters placed after a person's name to indicate that the individual holds a position, academic degree, accreditation, office, military decoration, or honor. The order in which post-nominals are listed after a name is based on rules of precedence and what is appropriate for a given situation.<ref>Wikipedia article: Post-nominal letters</ref>
Post-nominals in TRMN
In The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. (TRMN), a member may place post-nominals after their name based on awards they have been issued. The awards which qualify for post-nominals, as well as the order in which they are written, are all based on the canon usage of the Star Kingdom of Manticore as developed by BuNine. Mirroring real-world Imperial German practice, members of the Imperial Andermani Navy do not use post-nominals.

Service Branch post-nominals
Additionally, the Manticoran or allied branch in which a member serves is often designated by the initials of that branch written as post-nominals.
- example: "CDR John Doe, RMN" indicates that John Doe is a commander in the Royal Manticoran Navy.
The initials for the service branch may be used along with award post-nominals, in which case they will be placed after all award post-nominals.
