Motion: Adoption of the "Better Place to Be a Fan" Decision Test
WHEREAS the 2026 TRMN Membership Survey White Paper recommends the Board “adopt a simple decision test for major Board and Bureau initiatives” — “Does this make TRMN a better place to be a fan, together?” BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors adopts this Test for evaluating major decisions, and directs its use by the Board and by all constituent committees, Bureaus, Branches/Fleets, Chapters, and boards of TRMN when considering major policy, structural, or programmatic decisions; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that proposals clearly serving this standard should be prioritized, and those that do not should be weighed more skeptically; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this motion takes effect immediately upon adoption.
Motion to approve the above decision test for all future actions was made by Geoff Strayer, and seconded by Zach McCauley Discussion was had regarding “what is a major decision”. Consensus came to be that anything larger than affecting one chapter would be considered a “major decision”. The focus is that we need to make things move in a positive direction by providing more interaction with members and the membership. Motion approved by acclamation. No opposition or abstentions.
