Joint Chiefs Directive 2401-01 was issued 03 January 2024 by the Chairman of the Grand Alliance Joint Chiefs of Staff. This directive reestablishes the title of First Lord of the Admiralty as an honorary title with purely ceremonial duties, and disestablishes the Office of the First Lord of the Admiralty for The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. (TRMN).

Joint Chiefs Directive 2401-01
MEMORANDUM FOR All Officers and Enlisted of the Grand Alliance
FROM ADM McCovey Cove, RMN
As of the date of this directive, by the authority of the Grand Alliance Joint Chiefs of Staff, and with the
blessing of the Sovereign, Queen Elizabeth III of the Star Kingdom of Manticore, and Empress Elizabeth I
of the Star Empire of Manticore; I hereby bestow upon Lord Martin Lessem, Grand Duke Lynx, Duke New
Scania, the honorary title of First Lord of the Admiralty of the Star Empire of Manticore in perpetuity as an
acknowledgement of his years of service to, and the founding of, The Royal Manticoran Navy, The Official
Honor Harrington Fan Association.
Additionally, Lord Lynx is authorized to retain the permenant military rank of Fleet Admiral (F-5) and will
be placed on Half Pay, thereby extending him permission to wear his uniform for ceremonial ocassions as
he sees fit.
Furthermore, Grand Duke Lynx shall be afforded the honor of presenting awards at any official ceremony
he sees fit to attend in person, and Grand Duke Lynx’s signature shall appear on all Star Empire of
Manticore Armed Forces and Civil Service award certificates, alongside that of the issuing authority, as
the dult appointed representative of the Soverign.
Finally, as the title of First Lord of the Admiralty is now an honorary one with purely ceremonial duties,
and, as all previous administrative duties have been transferred across the newly reorganized
organization, the Office of the FLA is hereby dissolved.
