Commander Smith:
You are hereby directed and required to proceed aboard HMS Thunderer (SD-323), there to take upon yourself the duties and responsibilities of Commanding Officer, relieving Captain of the List Sir Sherman Day, KSK, GCE, in service to the Crown. Fail not in this charge at your peril.
The following personnel have been assigned to your command, are hereby directed and required to proceed aboard HMS Thunderer (SD-323), there to take upon themselves the duties and responsibilities below:
- LCDR Stephen Miller, RMN (RMN-5352-18), is assigned as Executive Officer.
Based upon the requirements of the service the following brevets are approved:
- CDR Jeff Alen Smith Sr. to O-6a Captain Junior Grade, RMN, in service of the Crown.
- LCDR Stephen Miller to O-5 Commander, RMN, in service to the Crown.
The Bureau of Ships wishes to express appreciation and thanks to Captain Day for their service as CO of HMS Thunderer . Pursuant to future assignment, Sir Sherman is voluntarily remaining at the rank of O-6B Captain of the List. We wish him all success in his future endeavors.
The above directive is effective on this date, 28 June 2025.
