Issuing a Certificate

All credits earned for marksmanship will now be reported individually by members through a central website managed by the Marksmanship Program under the Office of Awards, which will also handle the issuance of certificates. Members are responsible for submitting their credits after each game played or at the end of each day of play. This ensures that all accomplishments are recorded promptly and accurately.

The Office of Awards will provide clear guidance on how to use the reporting system. Members will submit their results directly to the central website, allowing for efficient tracking of achievements and ensuring that every game contributes to a member’s progress. The Marksmanship Program will review submissions and issue certificates to recognize each member's accomplishments. Maintaining accurate records through the website will also facilitate future verification if needed, creating a cohesive and efficient process for recognition across the organization.

Awards will be posted monthly on the forums.

Wearing Marksmanship Awards

Every member of TRMN can qualify in all the categories of the marksmanship program, but some divisions do not have a separate device for each of the categories. In these cases, the awards are grouped together under the devices the service does include.

For example, a Royal Marine, Grayson Sailor, and Army Soldier are all qualified as marksmen in Pistol, experts in Flechette Gun, and high experts in Rifle. The army soldier would wear each device, since the army has devices for each weapon / category. The marine would wear the Rifle High Expert ribbon, along with the Expert Pistol ribbon since Flechette Gun is included under Pistol for RMMC personnel. The Grayson sailor would wear the Expert Marksman device, since the Grayson awards recognize only the highest marksmanship level, regardless of category/weapon.

As a member changes branches, they change the way they display their award. The underlying points and certificates do not change, only the method of displaying the award. Each division is specified below.

Royal Manticoran Army: The army recognizes all categories of awards
Royal Manticoran Navy: The RMN combines the categories into Naval Rifle or Naval Pistol for display purposes.
Royal Manticoran Marine Corp: The RMMC follows, and uses, the same awards as the RMN for display purposes.
Royal Manticoran Astro Control Service: The RMACS uses the RMN awards for display purposes.
Grayson Space Navy: the GSN uses the Naval Pistol/Rifle Groupings but only displays the highest of the two as Weapons Qualification Medal/ Distinguished Weapon Qualification Medal/Champion Shots Medal.
Republic of Haven Navy: The RHN uses the Naval Pistol/Rifle Groupings but only displays the higher of the two for the <insert award name>
Imperial Andermani Navy: The IAN uses the Naval Pistol/Rifle Groupings but displays the higher of the two with the Marksmanship Badge in Bronze/Silver/Gold.
Sphinx Forestry Commission: The SFC uses the Naval Pistol/Rifle Groupings but displays the RMA award for that level.
Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine: The RMMM uses the Naval Pistol/Rifle Groupings but displays the RMA award for that level.
Diplomatic Corp: The DC uses the Naval Pistol/Rifle Groupings but displays the RMA award for that level.
Special Intelligence Service: The SIS uses the Naval Pistol/Rifle Groupings but displays the RMA award for that level.

Order of Tremaine

The Marksmanship Program aims to foster camaraderie through gaming by recognizing individuals who exceed expectations in their achievements. To support this mission, the Department of Marksmanship will maintain and publicly share a list known as the Marksmanship Mastery Order of Tremaine. This list will highlight participants who have attained High Expert status in 3, 5, 7, and 9 categories, encouraging ongoing engagement and participation. Each level of achievement will be accompanied by the following titles:

  • At 3 High Expert Categories an individual is recognized as a Member
  • At 5 High Expert Categories an individual is recognized as a Fireteam Leader
  • At 7 High Expert Categories an individual is recognized as a Master
  • At all 9 High Expert Categories an individual is recognized as a Grand Master

Rolling Scoreboard

We are excited to introduce a quarterly scoreboard that will track and highlight participants who earn the most credits within each quarter of the Marksmanship Program. This dynamic leaderboard will reset every three months, providing a fresh opportunity for all members to showcase their skills and compete for top honors. By fostering a spirit of friendly competition, the scoreboard will encourage ongoing engagement and motivation, allowing participants to continuously challenge themselves and aim for new heights in their marksmanship achievements.

Earning Multiple Awards

Once a member has achieved High Expert status in a category, they can further enhance their recognition by earning additional clusters or wreaths for their ribbon. For every 600 credits accumulated beyond their initial achievement, members will be authorized to add a cluster, wreath, or other device, depending on their total credits earned and their branch’s traditions. This system not only celebrates continued excellence but also encourages members to consistently engage in the program and strive for even greater accomplishments, creating a visual representation of their dedication and skill in marksmanship.
