Re: Removal of Officers from a Chapter (Admiralty Order 1612-04)

Officers of a chapter can only be removed from that chapter under ONE of the following conditions:

  1. If requested by the Officer themselves via email to bupers@trmn.org stating that they wish to transfer and what chapter they would like to be transferred to;
  2. If an Officer becomes part of a newly commissioned chapter, and are properly listed on the Commissioning form for the new chapter, they will be transferred from their current chapter to the newly commissioned by BuPers once the new chapter is officially commissioned.
  3. If an Officer of a chapter is not active and non-responsive to requests for information from the chapter CO and the Fleet CO, the member may be transferred to the holding station for their service only under the following conditions:
    1. The Chapter CO must certify that the Officer has not attended a chapter event, defined as a meeting or any other event the Chapter may do in the last 12 months; and,
    2. The Chapter CO must have had *no* contact with the Officer via email or telephone during the past 12 months; and,
      1. The Chapter CO *must* attempt to contact the Officer via email of phone at least once a quarter; and,
      2. The Chapter CO *must*, in the final quarter of the 12 month time frame, send the Officer a registered letter informing the Officer of what is going on, and requesting a reply; and,
    3. The Fleet CO must attempt to contact the Officer via email or telephone at least two times in a two week period after receiving the CO’s certification shown in part (a), above; and,
    4. The Fleet CO must certify to BuPers that they have met the requirements above and that they concur the Officer is inactive and non-responsive, thereby agreeing to the COs request that he Officer be removed from their chapter, as requested.

Once the requirements set forth above are met, BuPers will then transfer the Officer as requested.

In Honour of the Queen!
