BuShips Directive 1103-01 was issued 01 March 2011 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. It commissioned the Reuben James in Baltimore, Maryland. This was the first formal BuShips directive.

Order Text

Effective as of 0001 Hours on March 1, 2011, it is my pleasure to announce the commissioning of the HMS Reuben James (DD-57). This is a Roland-class Destroyer under the Command of LCDR James Kratzer and is assigned to DesRon 1, TF1.1, of the First Fleet.

As of the date of Commissioning, the following personnel are breveted to the indicated ranks below:

  • James Kratzer to Lieutenant Commander
  • Rosy Dorffner to Lieutenant Commander (and to serve as Executive Officer)
  • Bill Masters to Ensign
  • Sandy Kratzer to Senior Chief Petty Officer
  • Suzie Buck to Gunnery Sergeant
  • Dean Rogers to Chief Petty Officer
