von Hohenheim was created as a title on 01 July 2023 at MantiCon when GadF Ritter David Westover was created Freiherr [1] von Hohenheim.

History and Geography of von Hohenheim
von Hohenheim is a relatively new barony, located on Gregor-B, 49 light-years from New Berlin. Following the annexation of the Gregor Republic by the Andermani Empire in the late 1860s PD[2], a number of strategic Andermani military, industrial, and commercial nodes were established. What would become the nucleus of the now extensive von Hohenheim holdings can trace their separate histories back to all three of these sectors of Andermani acculturation.
With members of the extended Westover family still located on Potsdam, this more adventurous branch of the family seized the opportunity to move to a new planet, establish multiple critical industrial and commercial operations, and leverage the financial gains associated with their proximity to the Gregor Terminus. What started as a series of relatively modest service industry concerns has since grown to be among the wealthiest holdings of any Andermani peerage.

Schloss Hohenheim
Seat of Freiherr von Hohenheim, Schloss Hohenheim is a manor estate in the southern hemisphere of Gregor-B and is eponymous of the Hohenheim city district as well as the surrounding barony[3]. Built in the Old Earth Rococo style, the manor with its lush gardens and residential palace, is simultaneously the administrative center of the barony and the headquarters of the extensive Westover corporate holdings. Much of the administrative part of the building complex is underground, so as not to disturb the classic and tranquil beauty of the original structure.
Bombastus Chemical, Ltd.
Tracing its beginnings as a small fuel refinery the firm is now arguably one of the most important chemical refining and processing corporations in the Empire. With additional centers in New Berlin, Tomlinson, and the Durandel System (another terminus location), Bombastus Chemical is a leading supplier to multiple corporate and military industrial firms and organizations both within and outside of the Empire.
Theophrastus Nature Preserve
Sitting immediately adjacent to Schloss Hohenheim, this extensive nature preserve is one of the largest unspoiled tracts of prime real estate in the temperate southern continent of Gregor-B. Home to innumerable species of flora and fauna, the preserve is a testament to the Westoverian philosophy of service, tranquility, and nature. A small research center is one of only a few modern facilities in the whole of the preserve, which not only studies and supports this magnificent ecosystem, but also provides insight into important pharmaceutical research for Bombastus Chemical. Recently, they opened talks to assist the government of Torch in establishing similar districts.
von Hohenheim Orbital District
An early investor in commercial storage, warehousing, and transshipment facilities serving the Gregor Terminus, the original Westover Orbital Complex was rechristened the ‘von Hohenheim Orbital District’ upon the present Freiherr’s elevation to the nobility. An ambitious building program has seen the facility double in size in the past two decades to include extensive refit, resupply, and repair shops and berthing slips. Very significant facilities are allocated to a number of agency hubs, the largest of which is home to the huge Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine presence which radiates out of Gregor to both Silesia to galactic north and to the Durandel Terminus, located to the galactic southwest.
Philippus Aureolus Extraction and Processing (PAEP), Ltd.
A portion of the Gregor-B inner asteroid belt was acquired in the early days of the Westover family’s arrival. Over the years adjacent areas were purchased, and a large addition came as a gift from the Emperor himself at the time of the Freiherr’s ennoblement. PAEP is a major supplier of raw materials and rare ores. Much of it is processed by a conveniently located Bombastus Chemical orbital center. Much is also purchased through an exclusive contract with the Imperial Andermani Navy for use in hull alloy construction and with certain classified weapons and high-energy systems. Thanks to the growing ties to the IAN, options are being explored to expand into the Irrlicht System’s extensive asteroid belt. Currently, it has started a new project with Rock Locked Storage which might prove to be very lucrative in the future.
Gebäckgarnelen Distributors, Ltd.
One of the oldest exporters of quality shellfish and seafood in the Andermani Empire, Gebäckgarnelen Distributors, based in the Baronie of Neu Postdam, has its second largest disturbing center in the von Hohenheim Orbital District. From there and through the Gregor Terminus, Gebäckgarnelen delicacies have found their way into some of the finest restaurants and culinary establishments in the galaxy. A close, personal compact between the Westover and Zoeller families ensures that the freshness of Gebäckgarnelen product is never questioned.
Paracelsus Medical Institute
The Paracelsus Medical Institute is a leading center for gene therapy and other medical interventions on the molecular and macromolecular level. Often compared to some of the older and more well-known centers on Old Earth and Beowulf, the institute is the awarding agency for the prestigious William French Anderson[4] Award in Genetics and Molecular Biology. Critical and transformative work in repairing DNA and mRNA, and on selective treatments of mitochondrial inheritance have made the institute a leader in pre- and post-natal interventions across all nationalities and polities.
Westrovian Entrepreneurial Cooperative
One of the chief innovations ‘think tanks’ in the entire Empire, the firm is home to some of the brightest (and most opportunistic) minds in the thriving economy of the bustling Andermani Empire. Starting as a small institute attached to the Prinz Adelbert Marine Akademie to help retiring veterans design and start new businesses as they leave service, it has since grown into one of the leading voices in labor relations and business development within the Andermani Empire. There are now multiple branch offices all over the empire with centers for excellence on Potsdam, Erin, and Tomlinson. But it is most known for the famed Neu Potsdam Conference, which bi-annually brings together business leaders from various corporate concerns around the Empire, meeting in the Westrovian corporate headquarters in the Baronie of Neu Potsdam and discussing the many ways in which these powerful and diverse corporate entities can work together to meet their (and the Empire’s) goals.
