BuShips Directive 1804-04 was issued 28 April 2018 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. This directive appoints a new Executive Officer for HMS Merlin (CA-270).

CAPTJG Erikson:
The following personnel are assigned to your command, HMS Merlin (CA-270) in the defined capacities:
- ENS Patrick Hagemeier, RMN (RMN-4929-17), is assigned as Executive Officer, relieving CDR Dame Dora Ann Erikson. Based upon the requirements of the service for this billet, he is hereby breveted to the rank of COMMANDER, RMN.
The above directive is effective on this date, 28 April 2018.
The Bureau of Ships wishes to express appreciation and thanks to Commander Dame Erikson for her service as the XO of Merlin.
