Fleet Marine Force
Fleet Marine Force Corpsmen are those RMN Corpsmen who have undergone extra training in order to deploy with a Marine unit, as an integral part of that unit. Corpsmen who have successfully challenged this training may add the designator (FMF) after their rate. For example, Corpsman 2nd Class Bloggins, having qualified for Fleet Marine Force, would be identified as CR2 (FMF) Bloggins.
Qualifications
Level I
In addition to successful completion of Corpsman 'A' and 'C' courses (SIA-SRN-23A and SIA-SRN-23C), Level I qualification requires successful completion of Rifleman 'A' and 'C' courses (SIA-SRMC-07A and SIA-SRMC-07C). Minimum rate for Level I qualification is E-1.
Level II
This qualification builds on Level I. In addition to meeting the requirements of Level I, candidates for Level II must complete Assault Marine 'A' and 'C' courses (SIA-SRMC-05A and SIA-SRMC-05C). Candidates must also be at least E-4 pay grade.
Level III
The highest level of qualification builds on Level II, and requires the completion of Recon Marine training to 'A' and 'C' levels (SIA-SRMC-06A and SIA-SRMC-06C). Minimum pay grade for this level is E-6.
Authorized Uniform
There is no pin or ribbon to indicate FMF qualification. Corpsmen attached to Marine units as FMF Corpsmen are authorized the wear of RMMC field, working, service undress and service dress uniforms if they so choose, with the following differences:
- While they may wear the RMMC green beret, they will wear the RMN badge, not the RMMC badge.
- Rank insignia on the uniforms shall be RMN rank insignia.
- In place of the regimental patch, they shall wear the Corpsman rating badge.
