Queen’s Bravery Medal
Jackie Stuard (RMN-4476-17)
Over the course of CONtraflow 8 First Lieutenant Jackie Stuart went above and beyond the call of duty. Lieutenant Stuart served as the “go-to” guy for information and event planning for the weekend. Lieutenant Stuart was constantly moving throughout the convention to make sure that chapter members made it to the panels that they wanted to go. Lieutenant Stuart was instrumental in the organization of and execution of the Marine honor guard at the chapter’s annual awards ceremony. Lieutenant Stuart also stood post to check ID’s outside the chapter’s annual room party for the entire duration of the room party.
David Campbell (RMN-2458-15)
Over the course of CONtraflow 8 Master Sergeant David Campbell went above and beyond the call of duty. Sergeant Campbell organized the group activities of Bast Alpha Garrison, Dagobah Base, U.N.I.T., and HMS Barbarossa. Campbell organized a group photo of Tie Pilots, Royal Manticoran Navy and Marines, U.N.I.T. members, and Krewe Du Who members. Campbell successfully built good relations with several local Sci-Fi fan clubs, these relations have allowed HMS Barbarossa to continue shine throughout the region. Sergeant Campbell successfully instructed the Marine Honor Guard for the chapter’s annual awards ceremony.
Conspicuous Bravery Medal
Steven Rosenthal (RMN-1699-13)
For going above and beyond in his efforts of organizing and selflessly sacrificing the Saturday afternoon of CONtraflow to decorate the People’s Choice Award winning room party.
Ed Cook (RMN-2369-14)
For going above and beyond in his efforts to decorate the People’s Choice Award winning room party at CONtraflow and for his efforts in organizing and compiling the musical selection for the night.
Meritorious Service Medal
Evan Roth (RMN-5297-18)
On the Friday of CONtraflow 8, Sergeant Evan Roth offered his home for a a “Sewing Party” for all members of the chapter to put finishing touches on costumes and to assemble “con min.” Four members of MARDET Barbarossa attended and stayed well into the night. The “Sewing Party” was a success and allowed several members to complete their costumes and “Con Min” in time for the convention.
Survivor’s Cross
Bill Plasse (RMN-2616-16)
During action at ContraFlow 8 , a fellow shipmate suffered an acute attack from an ongoing medical condition. She was going to drive herself home, however Staff Sergeant Bill Plasse offered to drive her home. Once safely inside and comfortable, Staff Sergeant Plasse returned to the Convention to complete the day.
Linda Plasse (RMN-5553-18)
During her first action while attending ContraFlow 8 , a fellow shipmate suffered an acute attack from an ongoing medical condition. When Staff Sergeant Bill Plasse offered to drive her home, Private Linda Plasse followed Staff Sergeant Plasse in her own car. Once our Shipmate was safely inside and comfortable, Private Plasse drove Sergeant Plasse back the Convention to complete the days activities.

For providing first aid on site to a room party attendee who received a cut which needed bandaging in order to avoid bleeding on his costume as well as possible infection.

For undertaking an arduous journey from Texas and to New Orleans, LA by crossing over one thousand two hundred miles in order to actively participate on behalf of Marine Detachment 'Barbarossa'’s scheduled activities at CONtralow 8.
Marine Commendation Medal
Ryan Alstatt (RMN-5125-18)
During ContraFlow 8 Lance Corporal Ryan Alstatt demonstrated the “Can Do” spirit of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps. Acting in many capacities during the day including working the fan table, handling during intra-club photo shoots, as well as practicing and participating as an Honor Guard for the Chapter’s annual awards ceremony.
Bill Plasse (RMN-2616-16)
During ContraFlow 8 Staff Sergeant Bill Plasse demonstrated the “Can Do” spirit of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps. Sergeant Plasse acted in many capacities during the day including working the fan table, handling during intra-club photo shoots, as well as practicing and participating as an Honor Guard for the Chapter’s annual awards ceremony. During the chapter’s room party Sergeant Plasse stepped in to serve as a relief bartender to give Captain Rosenthal a much deserved break.
Linda Plasse (RMN-5553-18)
On her first deployment during ContraFlow 8 Private Linda Plasse demonstrated the “Can Do” spirit of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps. Throughout the Convention she demonstrated a willingness to “jump in” and help where needed, handling during intra-club photo shoots and. with no prior experience, practicing and participating as an Honor Guard for the Chapter’s annual awards ceremony.
Masadan Occupation Medal
For occupying both the Rebel Legion and 501st Legion table in either full uniform or con min and participating in their information and recruitment efforts throughout the weekend of CONtraflow, the following personnel are awarded the Masadan Occupation Medal
