A Marine Detachment (MarDet) is a unit of marines who are assigned to an RMN ship's complement.
In The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc., once a sufficient number of RMMC members are in a ship chapter, they can form a MarDet.
